Spring Break Part 2

The girls had two weeks off for Spring Break. We spent nine days in Washington DC, which was so much fun, but exhausting. So when we got home from DC, we decided to keep the vacation going. My cousin Brandi and her family were headed to Flagstaff for their Spring Break, so I decided to put the girls on independent study for a week and head up too. Thankfully, I have a super awesome, supportive husband who was fine with me ditching him again after being gone for 9 days. Thanks honey! :-)

Everyone knows that Flagstaff is my favorite place to be, and one of my favorite things to do while I'm here is to spend as much time outdoors as I can. My favorite place to hike is Walnut Canyon National Monument. It's just a few minutes drive from my house and so beautiful. It's not a long hike, just under a mile, but tough because you have to descend about 200 stairs to get to the trail, and then when you're done, you have to climb those same stairs to get back up. And at 7,000 feet elevation, it is not an easy task. Your lungs are burning by the time you get up. Here we are standing on those blasted stairs. This photo was obviously taken while we were on the way down because we are all smiling.

Here's the cousins...Emma and Grace with Samantha and Cole. Still smiling.

And here's a classic one of Grace coming back up the stairs. As you can see, they are pretty steep. She decided she might be better off crawling.
